Port Angeles Community Players Children’s Theater will present The Enchanted Bookshop, directed by Marissa Meek August 7 – 16. By day, A Likely Story looks like any ordinary used bookstore. But at night, magic takes over—and the characters inside the books come to life. Dorothy Gale, Robin Hood, Pollyanna, Sherlock Holmes, Heidi, and Tom Sawyer secretly inhabit the shop, bound by one rule: they may not leave the building or be seen by human eyes. They spend their nights helping Margie, the scatterbrained owner, keep her struggling bookstore afloat. But when two smugglers arrive searching for a stolen necklace hidden inside one of the books, the characters face an impossible choice. Do they warn Margie and risk vanishing forever—or find a way to stop the thieves without revealing themselves? Featuring appearances from beloved literary figures including the Queen of Hearts, Long John Silver, and Doctor Dolittle, The Enchanted Bookshop is a charming, fast-paced comedy celebrating the magic of stories and the joy of reading.
